There are an incredible number of ways to enjoy the benefits of cannabis. While, most people are familiar with smoking, but there are many other avenues to explore. There are edibles that you eat, topicals that you place on your skin, vapes that allow you to smoke concentrated cannabis oil, sublinguals, which are cannabis oil suspensions, or dabs which are very heavily concentrated amounts of cannabis extract that are heated at a very high temperature and inhaled. No matter which of these methods you choose make sure you start with a very small dose and work your way up from there. What are cannabinoids?
Cannabinoids are the chemical compounds active in the cannabis plant. There are over 85 different known cannabinoids that have been discovered in cannabis and they each exhibit different effects on the human body.
What is cannabis?
Cannabis is a type of plant that produces three different species of flowering plants: Cannabis indica, Cannabis sativa, and Cannabis ruderalis. Cannabis indica and Cannabis sativa are used to create recreational and medical cannabis.
What is CBD?
Cannabidiol or CBD is an abundant cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant. CBD has shown great potential in medical applications and may help neuropathic pain caused by MS, Diabetes, Lupus, cancer and other injuries. It may also have applications for combat anxiety, seizures, sleeplessness, and nausea.
What are concentrates?
Concentrates can refer to any type of cannabis shatter, wax, or oil that is smoked or vaporized. Concentrates are a powerful concentration of cannabinoids that are made by dissolving cannabis in its plant form via a solvent. The resulting product typically has very high THC levels and is used to produce various products, most usually oils and waxes.
What does dosage mean?

What are edibles?

Edibles are cannabis-infused foods, beverages or tinctures.

What is the entourage effect?

The entourage effect is a commonly used term that describes the synergistic way that many of pharmacologically active compounds in cannabis including cannabinoids, terpenoids, and flavonoids interact.

What is extraction?

Extraction is the process of removing something. In cannabis, the extraction process gently removes the cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids from the plant so that they can be used in things such as oils and creams.

What is hemp?

Hemp is a fibrous material produced from the cannabis plant that is used in a wide array of products including, paper, beauty products, rope, and a vast array of other things. Hemp plants do not contain the same chemical makeup as female cannabis plants and contain very little THC.

What does pharmaceutical-grade mean?

A pharmaceutical-grade compound (PGC) is defined as any active or inactive drug, biologic or reagent, for which a chemical purity standard has been established by a recognized national or regional pharmacopeia (e.g., the U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP).

What is a strain?

In cannabis, a strain is a specific variety of the plant. Strains are developed for a number of reasons, usually to cultivate desired traits in the plant, such as high levels of a particular terpene or cannabinoid. Although the cannabis industry strives to create stable strains, they often differ regionally and their aroma and effects can be dramatically different than expected.

What is THC?

THC is an abbreviation of tetrahydrocannabidinol and is one of the most abundant cannabinoids in marijuana. THC is in large part responsible for the plant’s intoxicating effects.

What are topicals?

Topicals are non-intoxicating balms, salves, and oils that users apply directly to the body instead of consuming. They can act as muscle relaxants and antiseptic ointments.

What are terpenes?

Terpenes are the pungent, oily compounds found in many plants, including in cannabis. Secreted from cannabis’ trichomes, terpenes give cannabis varieties their distinctive flavors and aromas like citrus, berry, skunk or pine. Evolved at first as an adaption to repel predators and lure pollinators, we are finding that each terpene has different effects within the body.
